Lithium Aluminum Hydride
Lithium Aluminum Hydride (LAH)
CAS No.: 16853-85-3 | Molecular Formula: LiAlH4 | Molecular Weight: 37.95
Lithium Aluminum Hydride (LAH) is one of the most powerful and versatile reducing agents in organic synthesis. It reduces esters, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, ketones and acyl chlorides to the corresponding alcohols, and converts amides, nitriles, nitro compounds, imines and oximes into the corresponding amines. It is widely used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and fine chemical intermediates, as well as in laboratory and pilot-plant scale reduction reactions.
